ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 530 ಕಿ. ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಿಜಾಪುರ, ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣ . ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ದೇಶ -- ವಿದೇಶಿಗರನ್ನು ಕೈ ಬೀಸಿ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬಿಜಾಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವಾಸವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮೊದಲನೇಯ ದಿನ ಸಿಂದಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿಕಲಚೇತನರು, ಅಂಗವಿಕಲರು, ದೇವದಾಸಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿರುವ ಸ್ವ -ಸಹಾಯ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಎರಡನೇಯ ದಿನ ಗೋಲಗುಂಬಜ್ (ಗೊಳಗುಮ್ಮಟ), ಬಿಜಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶಿವಗಿರಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಹೆಚ್. ಎ. ಎಲ್. ನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಿವನ ವಿಗ್ರಹದಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ . ಬಿಜಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕಹಳ್ಳಿಯಾದ ಕಾಖಂಡಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದ ದೇವದಾಸಿ ಪದ್ದತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೂರೂ - ನಾಲ್ಕುವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ "ಸ್ಲಂ" ಗಳು ಈಗ ಸುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಅವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತರಾದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ನೀಡುವ ಸವಲತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸದುಪಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನರು ಹಿಂದೂ -ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಎಂಬ ಭೇದ -ಭಾವವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ.ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ ಬಿಜಾಪುರದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮರೆಯಲಾಗದ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

An outreach program aims always to help, uplift, and support those who are deprived of certain services in their life.
And being a Christian institution it has been the tradition of our school to reach out the deprived and underprivileged people during the Christmas time every year.
This is mainly to share our love and concern towards these people who long for the love in their lives.

“Not all of us do great things but we can do small things with a great love.”
It was our privilege to meet the students in a GOVERNMENT KANNADA & TAMIL MODEL PRIMARY SCHOOL near St. John’s Road, Bengaluru.
We SJIPS got an opportunity to share few insights about health and heygine to girls of the school, we cherish our memories about the school.
We also gave a fascinating program to the school children during our visit by conducting games, drama and at the end through the distribution of sweets as a token of love and respect.

During the joyful movement of Christmas, we Josephite’s had an opportunity to share our love, care and we had a chance to interact and spend time with the gifted friends at Nirmala Shishu Bhavan – Lingarajapuram Bengaluru, which was taken care by the missionaries of charity sisters.
