The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and patriotism by the Josephites on 15 August. The campus was resounding with patriotism as the tricolours were flying high everywhere. Cmde. C.D. Balaji, Distinguished Scientist, Chairman of K Tech CoE A and D and as former director of ADA also a proud alumnus of St. Joseph's Indian Institution was the chief guest. Rev .Fr. Joseph D’souza SJ, the Rector was President of the function and all the heads of all the units of St. Joseph's Indian units graced the occasion. The program began at 8.20am with the flag hoisting, followed by the national salute and national anthem. The attraction of the day was the majestic view of march past by the student council members, Scouts and NCC cadets of school and college. The chief guest in his address reminded us of all the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters in order to attain freedom. The dignitaries appreciated and awarded the winners of various competitions in honour of 75th Independence Day. The cultural programmes like mime, tablo, patriotic singing, patriotic dance by various units added beauty to the programme. The programme ended with the vote of thanks.
